Blaming him for the 2 goals conceeded is just an odd connection to make and sounds more like the ramblings of somebody with a vendetta. Those goals were coming all game regardless of whether it was kovacic or gundo, or even both on the pitch when they went in.
 
I think most of us were ok with Gundogan coming back ….but unfortunately/obviously it isn’t working…..certainly against hard working, physical teams.

Watch the first goal today and his efforts to get to the ball and stop it getting into the box were half hearted to say the least.

We also needed someone to stay behind the ball to help take the sting out of the game not getting caught in the opponents box and ahead of the ball without the legs to get back.

Pep really needs to be ruthless and forget his loyalty to his older players….its really costing us now.

Why did Pep take Kovacic off (a more defensive player) and replace him with someone who has continuously failed as a defensive midfielder this season……and if it’s fitness on Kovacics part then he needs shipping out along with the other players who are not capable of completing 90 minutes.

Really disappointing on Peps part that he won’t show some faith in one of the youngsters (Reilly, Wright) and keeps playing an out of form, unfit and ageing Gundogan who unfortunately looks as though he is finished at this level.

A tiring De Bruyne, Silva and Gundogan are not going to offer much resistance when we are being attacked as we were today.

Total nonsense tweet. Kovacic played a total of ZERO minutes in that Feyenoord match. And Kovacic was subbed on after 68mins against United. Gundogan played 89mins. Next.

Wright played last night and got sent off (2Y) in the EDS’ 2-1 win against Brighton, so he was never going to play.

I think he should be getting Gundo type minutes, but I’m not a $20M/yr manager who is never wrong until he gets to admit it for himself.

Clearly, this season is all about getting a CL spot for next season and Pep knows who he trusts. Very few of those players are under 24 yoa! He’s not going to change until forced, but given the profile of the players we appear to be buying, that’s going to be sooner than later.

Gundo is finished at this level and even a 20 minute cameo is too much for the speed and strength he brings to the game. Sadly, opposition players are bigger, stronger & faster…even with 70 minutes in their legs already. Tonight was a night to close out the game, but Pep doesn’t seem to understand what that means or how to do it with the personnel at his disposal.

I said it in pre season. For him and for us, i don't want this reunion. But here we are :(
 
would have make more sense to bring him for KDB? problem was Kovacic needed more help but was fucked fitness wise looked very tired at coming off.

Foden, KDB not helping out much defensively will leave Kovacic or Gundo at the shit big time every game.

we are short in DM/CM area, as the ones available are not great at it anymore (Gundo), or burnt out big time (Bernardo), or never were supposed to this on his own(Kovacic, who had a fucking Kante doing the real hard work behind him and then bit later on a young Mount next to him as a runner).

whichever way Pep tried to solve it so far it doesnt work (Lewis going from RB to almost an 8 without purpose etc.)at all but workrate of more attacking players is the start of the problems. they wait for the ball to played to them a lot. but they do that when opponent attacking and running at us too.
 
Might aswell get used to him playing as pep will keep picking him and we will keep fucking up .
 
Love the guy and thought he might have a good season in him when he returned.

I think we could all see early in the season once he started playing that he wasn't anything near the same guy that left but hoped he might get up to speed...

He cannot. He's finished.

Do you actually believe we are getting champions league mate ? Only chance is if we win it .

Didnt Even see that. Might be the reason why McAtee didn’t score was because of him being in front of him.
 
Current Gundo and current Kev together in midfield when you have to defend is just not a very good idea.

I just can't understand why we can't give a chance to younger, more energetic legs like Nico. Hell, even push Nunes into midfield for 20mins and have Simpson-Pusey play RB or something.

Pep doesn't trust the youngsters maybe for fear of dropping points, but we end up dropping them anyway.

It's up in the air at the moment! I'm waiting till there is 6/8 games to go and how many points we are from 4th 5th think our last 6/8 games are decent games to win
