Getting away with murder at the minute and the fact the circumstances have left it that he will be here next season is an absolute disgrace. I love him for everything he’s done but game after game he’s being carried in my opinion

He honestly hasn't, he's been horrendous all season. People try to be nice & like to pretend he does something during matches, but he doesn't.
I had no issue criticising him over Christmas when things were really bad but he has been much better in recent weeks in my eyes. Don't try to put your thoughts in my head.

You can't judge Gundo when he plays with a midfield of Kev, Bernie and Kovacic - as seen in games when he's had the insurance of Nico sat there he's a different player. I suspect missing Rodri has impacted a lot of our senior players Gundo in particular. Pep clearly sees Nico as a player for next season.

For me Gundo still has the intelligence to contribute next year - especially if we have a more solid and mobile midfield. I suspect that Pep has sacrificed entertaining play just to grind out points to qualify for the CL this year. I believe that next year we will see a return to a far more attacking team with youth and mobility surrounding a few of the older guys.

Mate you have to look at games against the very best domestically and Europe and he is not now not good enough in them games anymore and when was the last time we said that gundo got the game by the scruff of the neck and dragged us out of it as he used to . One of my fave all time players but he needs to step back into the coaching side now .

I do agree with you - when I say he can still contribute it would be in a very reduced role - say 15-20 games next year tops. I think we can all agree when he came back no-one expected him to play so much his mind is fine but his body is just that few seconds behind which as you say is key when playing against the best.

While gundo wasn't great last night he makes a hell of a lot of runs off the ball creating space for others, doku wouldn't get half the amount of balls if it wasn't for gundo taking defenders with him.

The way he had to be used wasnt my ideal for him tbh.

Because Doku held the width, where nornally Marmoush would make arcing runs to the centre, Gundogan had to be that striker.

Instead O Reilly took Gundogans spot to be the midfielder.

I didnt like that for Gundogan or O Reilly (who in theory should prefer a central role).

At the moment the biggest problem in the squad.

Probably nobody in the club knows what to do with him

I think he's played pretty well since his 2 month or so horror start. Just don't play him twice in 3 (or 4) days and surround him with the right players when he's on the pitch
Agreed.

Thought he did ok on Friday (and has done well since jan). Lots of decent runs on Friday (his run makes KDB's goal).

He's just trying a bit too hard to make the killer contribution with some of his passes IMO, some of which just aren't on. I get why he wants it, to have a really special moment in his second spell (I'm dying for him to score at Wembley). But he needs to let it happen organically, not force it.

And the pass to Doku !

He made 37 passes on Friday. We had 684 passes. 0 shots 0 assists and 0 goals. He was literally invisible. He's nowhere near good enough for us now. I miss the real Gundo.

Assists tell you something. Not everything. The bloke who gave the ball to Maradona in his own half before he beat the entire England team in '86 would now get an assist. Whereas Gundo doesn't get one on Friday, yet he makes the goal.
