What a pleasure to watch him playing like we know he can. Brought back some lovely memories tonight. He's such a lovely footballer

Interesting seeing the difference in him between the 4222 (as a left attacking midfield) and 433 (more of a left centre midfielder) and more involved in build up than in the other system that has him higher up.

I think I prefer this system more for him.

Exactly he is a game every 7 days maximum
If we really want to be back next season he wouldn’t play once a week. His decline is obvious. He’s stunk the place out 80% of the time he’s played.

Yes he played well last night, but do we really want to keep seeing him starting next season. I for one hope I never see him starting for City again.

Out of the older midfielders, we should hold onto Kova. The rest should be shown the door.

He’s a legend who shouldn’t have come back. The chapter was closed and it needs closing again.

No reason why he cant contribute significantly next year. Modric played into his late 30s. Ilkay's game is based on vision and smarts rather than speed. he has looked more confident the past few weeks. Could be very handy at the CWC.

I hope we don’t go for new players and keep all of our players who have won everything.
We don’t need a rebuild just keep them all and then just buy 10 new players when they all leave together

One more good game and we will have people see we don’t need new players and we can start Gundo Bernardo Kovacic every week
I'm baffled as to why anyone wouldn't want Gundo in the squad.

He should start about 15 league games to help rotate other midfielders. Then come on in others to settle games when we are leading late on. Experience in Europe vital too.

That's what was meant to happen this year, I'm pretty sure, and will happen next.

We could do that....

Or we could just try to acquire a 26 year old version of Gundo; instead and start an attempt at building the next great team rather than holding on tightly to the last great team.

Just a thought.
