Tbf there are some games he's run it, he's still got quality but he's been overworked and overused

He can't do the heavy lifting in midfield, he's a supplementary player to be used in games where we need more control, but other players have to do the legwork for him

That hasn't worked as he hasn't had runners around him

If we didn't have a trigger clause I'd say let him leave, but he's already been extended and he's not gonna be sold so let's just try get what we can get out if him

When he left first time he wanted what two year contract? We didn’t give him he left
Played one year at Barca and now he was two year contract here

He’s past his peak but as a rotation player, when push comes to shove I want him in the trenches next season.

He’s that old general who you want to go to war with but needs some younger soldiers around him, that’s all.

Would be amazed if either let alone both were allowed to go. They’ve carried the midfield this season and have huge credit at the Bank of Guardiola. They’re also coaching the youngsters through games and will do any newcomers, so lick your finger and prepare to turn the page for another chapter.
