Said previously that if he is going to be here next season, it would be a perfect time to slide him into the Second Assistant seat on the bench, and register him as a player. His knowledge, experience, and gravitas with this club are invaluable.
You can't do that, makes the entire thing too awkward. By all means he carries on his badges and taking coaching sessions with the youngsters but the dressing room dynamic is too weird if Gundogan being on the bench means sat next to Pep.

Fully deserves his second year. His class shines through. Expect him next season to play the role intended for him this season as predominately a rotation option who you'd have no worries slotting in against even the best. We need somebody in that role, no better than gundo.
Wouldn't be surprised if he isn't given a PL or CL squad place next year despite the extension.

We're limited on spaces and can't afford to carry him again next time.

Quite evident against pacey, high pressing teams Gundo has struggled. Today his intelligence and technical ability shone through and whilst he has played too many games this season, I still think he can be used next season albeit on a peripheral basis.

I'd be utterly astounded if that were to happen. We'd never do that to any player so not a chance in hell we'd treat pur treble winning captain that way.

we're fine for space anyway, there isnt going to be this mass summer recruitment many are dreaming of. it will be a couple out and a couple in as replacements. Gundo has played a big role this season and will have a reduced but still important role next season.

Happens all the time.

Reis and Echeverri aren't registered this year so we're already short.

Reijnders is coming in for KDB so that's his place taken.

We need to free up non-HG spots and the guy who turns 35 in October and has been rubbish this year is the obvious option.

We won't treat Gundo like that. Plus, he wasn't as poor as you suggest. Our best performances in the league were with him in the team. He won't start many games next season, but he is a proper leader.

So you don't have one. Thanks.
On the contrary, I thought you’d have enough football knowledge to be more aware of some of the more famous ones…you know, like Kenny Dalglish…but then again I should know better than to make football knowledge assumptions on here.

Thanks.

Christ, your going back 50yrs now to back yourself up.

It would be an embarrassing situation all round. Pep telling Gundogan he's not good enough to play but can put out the cones on match day and get a nice heated seat next to him on the bench.

Gundogan would never accept it when he can go and play elsewhere. Either Gundogan is still part of the 25 next year as a player or Pep tells him to find something else and if he desperately wants to be a coach, come back when he's retired.

Our best performances where against teams that we where expected to put to bed but what happened when we played our rivals and big guns in Europe ? .

Our best performances were vs. teams like Chelsea, Newcastle, and Bournemouth recently. Gundo was very good in those games.

The two games he didn't start recently were Southampton away and Palace... We won all the games he started in since United away.

I didn’t need to “back myself up!”

I was right, you were wrong…and I even gave you a clue for one who was all over TV yesterday!

If you need a more recent one, look no further than Vincent Kompany. But, like I said, you don’t sound like the sharpest tool in the shed, so I’m not even sure you’d know that!

Gundogan has a contract with City for next season. He is getting his UEFA Coaching Badges. It could be an excellent transition season for him, if he so chooses.

Like me, I doubt he is looking to you for direction.

Gundo age 34 still has the footballing brain to be effective - however, looking at this season you could see clearly his performances when he had a proper defensive midfielder alongside him - Nico - were very good. When he had either older, less mobile players alongside him or the likes of Rico going into central space he looked slow and out of sorts.

If Rodri, Nico & perhaps a new signing with pace and power are part of our midfield make up Gundo will still have a role to play he's that smart. Question is would he be happy with a much reduced role next year of will it be time for him to have a final swan song in Turkey?

Why on earth would I be watching TV coverage of anfield? You keep bringing this up. Is Slot player manager, or Glasner? What's your point.

Player/Manager of Anderlecht right, you might want to check his stats for that time. Shite, because it doesn't work.

Player/coach is for two bit clubs who are too tight to appoint the right people and think employing ex players gets the fans on side, not elite football clubs.

But don’t forget his many teams have also ran through him his season . A great player for us but we are looking at the future and new young players . Always said id like gundo to be on our hr c oh aching squad though

I had no point other than to prove you were wrong when you came in over the top.

No-one is suggesting he take over from Pep! And, now you’re saying you agree it not only does happen, but recently…but you didn’t like the results. Got it! Haha!!

Clueless attempt at justification, but you do you. Liverpool have never been a “two-bit club,” but it sounds like you’ll say anything in your silly attempts at justification.

You take care.
