A great Cup run that year Palace with Big Mal, Bondy's Norwich, Peterborough away and blues adapting an Adam Ant song,,,,,,,do ya self a favour get down to Maine Road..Man City oi oi oi ( Ant Music ), Everton quarters and a double decker of Everton arriving early at Maine Rd 5.30pm and causing havoc, Ipswich semi, the Holte and legendary Gerry Gow crunching one of the Dutch stars early doors, the final and top performances on Saturday from Caton ( rip ) and Reid. I think it was Mckenzie scuffed a shot and it scraped the post. Gave up Bruce ticket at Apollo to see the replay on Thursday. Happy days, and the last truly great City team pre 2009.

Thanks to my college lecturer Rob who drove me to both games.

Was at the first game but money was a bit tight in those days so I couldn`t afford two trips with a week.

I was the opposite couldn't make the Saturday but made the Thursday I was only young back then :-)

I drove four of us down on the Friday and we kipped on the floor of a (Blue) mate's flat on Friday and Saturday night. - Some beer may have been involved. Spurs fans were twunts.
Drove the same four down for the replay (one lad now with his ankle in pot as he'd fractured it running for a bus the previous night). Spurs fans were twunts.
And drove to Wembley again about nine days later to see England play Scotland.

The replay was 35 years ago today. And so began a ongoing, and lovingly nurtured grudge which I carry to this day and will continue to do so.

First ever trips to Wembley for these games,still got the programmes.
Was lucky at the time as my eldest sister lived in Maida Vale.
Anyone know why the replay programme was Black?
