Ladies and Gentleman it is now somewhere in the region of 65 hours until the biggest game many of us will have experienced.

There are some threads doubting whether we will get a result.

There are some threads building the tension.

There are blind faith threads not wanting to see anything other than a win.

This thread though is to ask the older members of the Sky Blue family what we, inexperienced semi-final newbies should be feeling, thinking and doing.

What did you seniors get up to in the halcyon days of yore?

Do you too feel more tense this time round and how are you managing yourself?

If you actually remember the 50's success do you have a defibrillator to hand. Just in case?

Cmon oldies give all us young 'uns a pep talk will you, the tension is already getting close to unbearable.

I think the above is a very level headed real comment in another thread, in case you haven't seen it.

I see this thread not as a blind 'we will win' if we get the 2,000 replies. Its more about us getting together across the globe FOR CITY ahead of Wednesday. Our team and all our supporters are going to know it, going to feel it, come Wednesday. With 2000 replies or not, Win or lose, our time is coming, City is on the up.

C'MON CITY!!!!!!

Kiki Musampa was the greatest player to ever wear the City shirt... Discuss?

YOU ARE SOOOOOOOOO WRONG MATE!
the greatest player was robbie fowler and heres why!

1) his workrate was awesome.
2) never injured.
3) he owned my house.
4) best physique EVER not a sliver of fat on him. ;)

All excellent points, but you fail to grasp the true greatness that is Kiki. If given the chance, the man could an would two-foot flying tackle the ref, escape punishment, grab the ball with both hands and eat it. He would then run down the pitch, punching every scum dense enough to cross his path and then sh*t the ball out for a goal. I have tried and failed many times to equal this feat, but have sadly been banned from my local football league :(

I have just sent the following email to Greater Manchester Police - I shall let you know if I get a response:

"Dear Sirs

Manchester United v. Manchester City, 27/01/2010

I note with interest, and with my full support, that Assistant Chief Constable Ian Hopkins is asking players and officials at both Manchester United and Manchester City not to antagonise fans or otherwise incite them at (and ahead of) the match on Wednesday.

Can you please confirm what consideration GMP has given to the removal of the banner at Old Trafford which tracks the number of years it has been since Manchester City won a trophy, having been a permanent fixture there for many years? If no consideration has been given to this idea, please can you explain why not?

The same banner has been antagonising and inciting Manchester City and its fans for years and years, and will continue to do so for the duration of Wednesday's game if allowed to remain in place.

Please note that a copy of this email is being posted on message boards at <a class="postlink" href="http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk</a> and at <a class="postlink" href="http://www.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">www.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk</a>.

I would be very grateful for a measured and prompt response.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely
