Typically woeful on the ball and equally as bad defensively. Was partly at fault for their goal, and although Everton didn't offer much, anything they did offer came down his side.
For a long while, I used to think there was a trade-off between Walkers better defending, and Cancelo being better on the ball. I actually don't think that trade-off exists. Walker is a flashy defender "ooooh look at me being all fast and strong", but he actually causes as many problems as he solves. He doesn't get out to a winger to stop crosses and he consistently falls asleep. Throw in the rash challenges in and around our box and what you have is the RB equivalent of Mahrez. Odd flashes of brilliance mixed in with a whole load of negative sideways/backwards crap.
Cancelo is not a brilliant defender, but he has improved. He is not as flashy as Walker, but he goes about his defensive duties quietly and efficiently. He is better defensively at RB than LB but apart from the odd soft tackle, I am rarely worried about him defensively these days.
Walker is a decent backup RB (a lot better than anyone elses 2nd choice RB), but that is all he should be these days. I wouldn't want him starting in any big game, against any top opposition.
