Last season without Europe if a player had played in all league and Cup games he would have played 48 games. If a Fulham player had played all League and Cup games he would have played 63 games and they didnt progress in either the Carling or FA cups if they had you could proably add a further 8 games.

The excuse for England was that Lampard was burnt out because he had played 50 games.

My point is this do you think we are buying players so that we can have effectively a midweek and weekend team because in an ideal world that is what you need to play well in all matches and actually compete in 4 competitions.

I think we could have 2 quality teams

HART
RICHARDS BOATENG LESCOTT KOLAROV
NDJ
JOHNSON SILVA
YAYA
TEVEZ TORRES???

GIVEN
ZABALETA TOURE KOMPANY BRIDGE
SWP IRELAND BARRY BELLAMY
ADABEYOR SANTA CRUZ

Don't forget to add in international games, for instance, there are going to be 2 African Nations tournaments within 13 months.
Jan 2012 in Gabon
Jan 2013 in Libya
Can see why clubs would be concerned at signing African players, we'll miss the Toures for quite a few games.

25 man squad

3 keepers

2 top quality players in each position + a couple of versatile utility players

60+ games this season. Everyone will get a chance.

its great isnt it.
got to be in favour of squad rotation, as long as its not on a massive scale as it interrupts the fluency of who's playing alongside who.
id prefer my cb's and cf's to remain unchanged where possible.

why the extra one in 2013?

Do you think its better to have a first 11 to play all games except where loss of form and injuries kick in or should he play a midweek team a bit like Wenger did with the FA and Carling cups

i like a solid core of a team, your gk (which could turn out to be a problem), a cb pairing, a cf duo (like the cole and yorke scummers) and rest can be rotated easily.
with our cm, we have 4 top players, so keeping them happy would be a tricky thing, so rotation there is necessary.
we need a new pair of fullbacks though, particularly lb.

why the extra one in 2013?

Changing to 'odd' years so it doesn't clash with world cups and thus there are two tournaments in just over a year initially.
