Sorry for starting a new thread, but the first 2 rags in the office totally agree that welbeck and rooney should have been sent off

Why was nothing said by the commentators???

Why was there no replay of the welbeck challenge?

Total disgrace that

Hd it been the other way around, it would be being discussed in every newspaper, and on every tv show from Sky Sports to Come Dine With Me....

Absolutely mate

When we scored last night, every little decision went there way, it truely is a disgrace

Those tackles have been largely ignored yet the possible offside of the first goal has had mroe computer power put into it than nasa used for the last space mission

They weren't that bad. It was a derby and there should be tackles like that - and Zaba's on Young - flying in. Young petulantly threw the ball at Zabs, Zaba purposely went and hurt him; that's what happens in sports like rugby, I'd like it to come back in football too. Wellbeck and Barry's challenge was good to see and although Rooney's was a bit dodgy, he rightly got booked.

This is a sport played by men, but the game has become so sanitised and supporters so whiney about shit that derby day tackles have almost been eradicated. That should never have happened. Thirty years ago - if there were Internet forums - this thread wouldn't exist.

Fuck it. There were meaty challenges going in all the time and nobody was sent off and we won; a perfect derby. I'd like football to be more like last night, please and everyone from players to fans to grow some balls and enjoy stuff like that.

How that twat Rooney stayed on the pitch is beyond me. A clear two footed challenge that should have been red, followed later in the game by a tirade at the ref calling him a fuckin joke.

Its so amusing how city fans back down on stuff like this because we should be better, we shouldnt complain thats what they do, yes that is what they do thats why they win, when vinnie did his tackle against nani most people thought it was a good tackle but rooney decided he was reffing the game and vinnie went, tell me rooneys was no worse than the one kompany got sent off for?

I don't remember the Welbeck one at all, however the Rooney one looked dodgy at the time. The one thing you can say with certainty is that Kompany's sending off in the FA Cup last season was a better tackle than the Rooney one, so the inconsistency is hard to justify.
