This year's thrown up some cracking albums. Been listening to:

The National - High Violet
Avi Buffalo - Avi Buffalo
Plan B - The defamation of Strickland Banks
Black Keys - Brothers

All belters IMO, any other recommendations?
Not heard a really good hip hop album for a while.
Cheers.

Going by the above,i think 3 are great, never heard Strickland Banks try.

The Hold Steady...Heaven is Whenever.

The Drive By Truckers....The Big To Do.

Band of Horses...Infinite Arms.

Mary Gauthier...The Foundling.

The Deftones....Diamond Eyes.

My Favourite this year so far though is.Roky Erickson with Okkervil River...True Love Cast Out All Evil.

Favourite last year.Deer Tick...Born on Flag Day.

Just been listening to Plan B over the last week or so and it's excellent.

Going to get Unknown Pleasures Remastered on vinyl next week. Just can't wait to hear that.

Just got hold of this and it is quality.

If we're throwing them in from last year Fuck Buttons--- Tarot Sport, Micachu and the shapes--- Jewelry , and Levon Helm --- Dirt Farmer.

Really looking forward to new Teenage Fanclub album just a week or so to go now.

Agree with the Drive By truckers, Hold Steady, and the National reccomendations....top albums.

Also:
Black Francis (Frank Black) - Non Stop Erotik
Johnny Cash - Aint no grave
Peter Gabriel - Scratch my back
Clem Snide - Meat of life
Tindersticks - falling down a mountain.

same here mate. I honestly didn't rate Plan B until The defamation of Strickland Banks, it is a quality album!

The pendulum remix of stay too long is awesome as well.
