Theoretical Girls

Apples in Stereo

anais Mitchell (featuring Bon Iver and Greg Brown)

all great albums

The album of the year was released today.

The Eighties Matchbox B-line Disaster's 'Fire and Blood.'

Unlike anything you would have ever heard and heavy as fuck. Its been five years in the making. They will also be the greatest live experience you will ever have seen. Utter carnage.

Special mention to the Black Keys and 'Brothers' which only got its physical release today. Both albums now take pride of place in my CD collection.

Just been listening to Plan B over the last week or so and it's excellent.

Going to get Unknown Pleasures Remastered on vinyl next week. Just can't wait to hear that.

same here mate. I honestly didn't rate Plan B until The defamation of Strickland Banks, it is a quality album!

The pendulum remix of stay too long is awesome as well.

It's such a good album, one the old northen soul 'eads would appreciate too. Going to see him in Oct at the Academy (sold out on first day tickets went on sale).

Some great choices on here. Gonna try the Four Tet one, his 1st album was great. Lots to choose from on here. Good taste Bluemooners.

i don;t know when its out0 but should be sometime this year - but the new Chase & Status album will be outstanding

also - am i one of the only ones that doesn't rate Plan B's new album? - he used to offer something unique - great lyrical rapper and a bit of a sing song - but on this new album - its pretty much all just him singing - i think he has nice melody to his voice but never in a million years should be putting out a singing album ....

sorry rant over 0 but that Chase & Status one will be MASSIVE !!!

ps - and so should Eminem's new one - out sometime this summer i think

-- Tue May 18, 2010 12:10 am --

Dont know if its been mentioned already but John and Jehn - Time For The Devil is outstanding French indie.

Cheers Shands and others for the Caribou heads-up.
Maybe its because I knocked off early today and its lovely and sunny and I'm having a beer whilst reading a fantastic book (JG Ballard's Concrete Island) but.....its a top top album.

Also getting a bit obsessed with Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings lately.
A modern group attempting to revive the 60s/70s soul sound with authentic recording equipment. Their 2005 album Naturally is the best place to start. Fucking superb stuff.
