After a brilliant Grand Final to end 2020 (which feels like ages ago now!), Super League is underway for a new season this evening.

St Helens v Salford
Leigh v Wigan tonight.

Feels really late for an opening weekend of the season. It’s usually freezing when the season starts! I’ve not kept up with the new signings of the teams so I’m coming into this season cold. Although I do know that Leigh have replaced Toronto for 2020.

World Cup year n’all, with the 2021 World Cup being here in Britain in October and November.

Saints started well, but they very much looked the part when they walked onto the pitch....like they meant business...which it turns out they did!

Can second half specialists Salford turn it around?? im doubtful but i hope so.

Salford look like they’ve kept hold of enough players to have a good go again this season. Two finals in the last two years is something to build on, just don’t know how good the new coach is.

Looking like Leigh’s dream start is in danger of being overtaken. Have played really well to take an 18-0 lead only to concede two quick late tries just before HT and now another 2 in quick succession to lose the lead 18-20.

Thoughts on Inglis? Seems like it’s set to end in tears for me but happy to be proven wrong

More Dire clutching at straws. Like to think of themselves as a top club but they're a small fish in a big pond.
Let me guess... Saints or Wigan fan?!

He’s just here to replace Gelling at centre. Nothing more nothing less. He’ll bring in some much needed revenue at a time when the club has lost a load because of Covid, so Wire are promoting the hell out of him and selling a load of GI gear. Great bit of business sense.

If he ends up playing well for us as well, then great. Don’t know why it would end in tears, he and his family are just experiencing life somewhere else for a while and the club are just employing a man from Aus just like any other team does. Just because he’s one of the sport’s greatest ever players people are looking to fix some big meaning to it, but there isn’t one.

I don’t know why everyone gets their knickers in a twist about Wire... well, I do actually, because we’ve got more money than everyone else and the arrogant Cartel don’t like it. They say we’re not a big club, say we’re not their rivals, say we’ve never won the big one (even though we’ve won it three times), but can never stop thinking about us and having digs at us and singing about us... does any of this ring a bell to anyone?! Wigan and Saints aren’t just the most successful clubs like United and Liverpool are in footy, their fans act exactly the same towards Wire as their drain scum do towards City n’all.
