2023 Grand National

Noble Yeats has a lot of weight than last year’s race . He would have to be in the Red Rum class to carry it to victory this time around . At the other end of the weights Willie Mullins has Mr Incredible who is absolutely thrown in . This horse has been wrapped in cotton wool for a while , he jumped well and stayed on really well in his two races in England this season under very patient rides at Warwick and the Cheltenham Festival. Mullins has always targeted the National for this relatively young low mileage stayer . Was 33/1 before the National weights were announced and was immediately backed into 14s . Corach Rambler is a class horse but again has plenty to do and no value in betting imho . Gallaird du Mesnil another to consider, very slow horse but stays forever and is tough as they come and a fair price .There are some big outsiders who have genuine place claims , the McCain family have a fantastic record in the race and train locally to Aintree . Minella Trump is a huge price and is a sound jumper with an engine but has never run in a big field , no forlorn hope ! With all Grand National races luck and staying out of trouble will play a huge part .

Backed 2 .... so far!
Galvin at 20/1. Talked up by Elliott as a national type a couple of years ago and it looks like they've abandoned the grade 1 route after a couple of stinkers early season. Had a few months off and a decent prep in the cross country.
The other is Cloudy Glen at 80/1. Totally unreliable but still in profit from his Hennessey win a couple of years ago and would kick myself if he ran into a place at those odds.

Galvin looked a really good horse a couple of seasons ago but unfortunately has gone backwards for some reason as many sadly do . The cross country could be his level now but we will see . Several of Elliot’s ran cracking races in yesterday’s Irish National !

Just looking back through his form and just over a year ago he went off 2nd fav for the gold cup, finished 4th. But yeah kind of gone downhill since then at the top level. I suppose that's reflected in the price.

He might still have a big run left in him but the cross country at Cheltenham was a poor affair, he will need to improve significantly from that run one would think . Fair EW price for the National though .
