I read all 40 of them out loud in my head, and I know some people go by form and others by colours, I go with how it sounds.. Velvet Elvis.. too smug, Our Power is pretty sounding.. I ask myself what will the announcer say..'and its Velvet Elvis, by a nose' - nope. I reckon our power, me, and I don't care what colour shirt the jockey has on

I've done that on occasion. Not by any word association, more whether I can imagine it being called out as the winner as it passes the post.

I live not too far from Aintree (Standish Wigan) (originally Urmston) and can confirm it fucking pissed down from 10.30am until around 4 pm ! ;-)

I'm exiled on the sunnier side of the pennines. Started here about 2 and it's still fucking going!

Had a tenner on Ain't that a shame on Thursday at 16s, 8s now. Had a 5er ew on The big dog at 25s, 12s now. Had a tenner on Delta works at 9s and a few other ew outsiders. Oh and a few combination forecasts and tricasts. And it's always the fuckin national when we're at home!

Beautiful blue skies this morning and the sun is out at last . The sheer romance of the Grand National is something to behold forever a spectacular showpiece that horses love participating in , if any of them didn’t fancy it they would just dig their heels in rear up and throw the jockey off its back and head right back to the stable . Protesters haven’t got a fucking clue and the horses have a better life than they fucking do .
Lastly despite the glamour of today NH racing is on its arse and many stables are struggling in the current economic climate . Let’s all hope today is a good one and NH racing wins the day .
