Bit on the nippy side to enjoy an evening at the cricket. I switched over, saw they were about 50/9 and gave up and watched Portugal.

USA struggling as expected against India, but have done well not to be skittled for 25.

I guess that if they can bat their full 20 overs, they'll see that as a moral victory. There'll be better (on paper) teams than them that might struggle to do that!

Yeah; the Pakistanis on social media were crying about the American side having quite a few Indians in it. Thing is; even with these "imports" in the team, the Americans are way down in the world rankings. Just checked; 19th in the rankings, only the UAE behind them in the top 20. That's higher than I thought they'd be, to be honest!

Just making the point that most probably dismiss the US as a cricket playing nation, but they've got a number of immigrants from nations where it's the national sport or are second generation so whilst they're not a top tier country they're not absolutely shite.

If the Yanks could battle up to 130+, it might be mildly interesting. Particularly if they could prise out a couple of quick wickets.

Middlesex have played a couple of games in Chelmsford at Essex's ground. They don't get the crowds at Lords and often use Radlett cricket club but have to pay to bring in temporary stands so decided they'd play at Essex instead for some bizarre reason. Think they played Kent there and not many in attendance at all.

They used to use Uxbridge and Merchant Taylor in Northwood.The residents around Lords do not like friday nights.I go to Surrey most fridays they get about 15 - 20 thousand big money at 35 quid a ticket and 7.50 a pint plus 15 quid for bog standard burger of fish and chips.Must clear a million a game.
