2026 Community Shield | Millennium Stadium | Sun 16th Aug, 3pm

Used to travel to south wales a couple of time a week up until last year
the stadium is just round the corner from Cardiff central station but the trains to Cardiff are an absolute joke ..
no big intercity service from Mcr just 2 small carriages even through rush hour which stop at every last village along the way . 3 1/2 hours off hell if your stood up on a hot crowded pokey carriage .. don't even think you can pre book seats 1st come 1st seated .

Blimey. Forgot. I wasn't at York or this but I was at London Bridge in 1987 after Millwall. I hope I am forgiven.
Only if you were at the more important game than York, Wrexham away, when Wiekens scored at our end, and started our run back to the big time.

Just looked, around 3-1/2 hours and 10 stops from Manchester, sounds a grueller and as somebody else said last train back 20.10.

Concert at Wembley. We have never played at the Millennium. I think that is a big draw for sales. Its not as big either. A change is as good as a rest is my view.
And those Arsanal supporters will have to travel. Let's see if there is any comment made if not all of their seat allocation is used.....

Bring it on. Its about 13 weeks away.

Around 25 years ago I travelled down to South Wales on a Sunday evening and there'd been a big football match on at the Millennium stadium (think one of the teams was Blackburn)
The traffic heading away from Cardiff on the motorway was horrific
I got stuck there in 2001 when Robbie Williams did an outdoor gig. There is a small link road ( A48 maybe) up to the M4 and it was horrendous. Stay in Newport and get the train in.
