Don't bring a longbow to a gun fight...It is Archery season
In a village no, but a large town or city it most certainly does, sadly.
30 mph is legitimate if there are the repeater signs.... no repeaters in a lamppost area = 20 mph
Vehicle crashes and KSI road users cost the overall economy £TENS OF BILLIONS every single year.
Stopping distance at 20mph = 3 vehicle lengths.
Stopping distance at 30mph = 6 vehicle lengths.
KE at 20mph (2500kg vehicle) = approximately 100kJ
KE at 30mph = approximately 225kJ
In built up areas, a 20mph speed limit makes perfect sense.
Just pointing out how much safer a 33.3% reduction in speed is.Can't believe the slower you drive the shorter the stopping distance, madness who knew?
Can you provide the stopping distance for 10mph? If its less than 3 vehicle lengths I think we should go for it.
People used to think wearing seat belts and drink-drive limits was ridiculous.I drove through north Wales on Thursday and today. The 20mph limit is ridiculous in most places, and actually caused road rage, and aggressive overtaking.
I think it's excessive.
