can count on one hand games he has played where you could say he was excellent.
You're right and also Zinch has played so well. He does get a bit of sympathy from me because the injuries at such a young age have done for him. However, an issue for him is he doesn't seem to have the same football intelligence as the rest of the squad

You never know. Many though, Stones race was run. Zinchencko, Gundogan, Bernie and a host of others too.

But they all bounced back big, Mendy can too. Let's see how the season plays out.

That's a fair point but none suffered injuries as bad as Mendy, especially because they were recurring and affected both his knees. Even if he is fit and ready to play, he just looks off pace and largely not that good in games he's played. At most it's been, 'there's good signs'
But that's where it's stopped and he's been off it game after or dropped.

Said pre match with the heavy rotation policy and upcoming key games, I saw the wolves game as a chance for him to start if he's in anyway in Peps plans for this season. given how Pep utilised Cancelo tonight as an authodox attacking fullback Mendy seemed even more of an option yet he didn't even make the bench. Ominous.

Consider that Aké is back and in training from next session onwards, his time at club might be done. But as someone else has pointed out, crazier things have happened. Can never rule it out but his injuries don't give me any hope.

It would be tough. I agree. Just wishing the best for him.

Considering his last appearance was against Cheltenham where he struggled, it seems like Pep saw something in that match that removed all doubt that he is good enough to be here. Shame it hasn't worked out.
