Agree , thought he was a decent signing , and never gets injured ,that didnt work out well :) Still think he will be a valuable squad member , has always looked a solid defender at Chelski and Bournemouth.

The quoted fee for Mendy by many media outlets varied frm £51.6m to £52m , plus agents fees , you work it out.
If we can find another Dinho for £750m , pay the money.

stones injury wasn't anywhere near as bad as what mendy has had.

...and you also believe Mendy to be on £20M+ p/a (£385,000+)

Just don't use figures to prove a point if you are going to pull them from thin air.

So agents work for free , must be a shit job , and the £20m is over his 5 year contract.............next.

Seriously boys why are you arguing, take it to direct messages if you feel that strongly. Mendy has just had a fine game, which hopefully will be the start of a resurgence for him. For what it’s worth I will support him and not slate the money we spent on him. He has had 2 terrible injuries since being here but if you check this thread before he got injured everyone was raving about him and I think someone said they could see him getting 15+ assists, so the waste of money you are referring to is easy to state in hindsight.

Arguing ?No stating facts , Mendy has cost near £60m , its a fact £52m plus agents fees , Hindsight ? He's had two serious injuries , the last one over 12 months ago , one good game in ten isnt good enough , hence he is 3rd choice full back. Dont go on about support , look a the Gundogan player thread i have backed him all they way whilst other unmercifilly taken the piss out of him, dont question my loyalites or support
If a player plays poorly he get the relative criticism and if he plays well he gets praise , not rocket science

I was patient with him for quite a while after his injuries but have long given up hope that he can do anything other than look out of place in a world class team. He‘s a spent force who is only capable of a very occasional flash.

Whatever we’ve spent on him, we can‘t turn the clock back. He‘s a substantial earner and we should move him on, take the hit and look to the future.

Nice guy but he’s been treated fairly and our top brass have got a business/elite football club to run.
 
My god, Mendy as absolutely nothing to offer us after he lost his pace. Such a bad defender and today it really shows.
What was he doing when Chelsea scored, walked casually after his man.
We really need a new left back come summer.
 
I've tried my best to warm to the lad but goodness me considering the amount of rest he's had he's playing like a 50 year old. One thing I find unforgivable is when we need to chase a game he's taking nearly a minute to take a throw - dreadful today.
