Considering his last appearance was against Cheltenham where he struggled, it seems like Pep saw something in that match that removed all doubt that he is good enough to be here. Shame it hasn't worked out.

I think it must be more than that because, frankly, who was good in that match? I find myself wondering whether he applies Pep's instructions. That's something Pep has very little tolerance for

His last was against Swansea and he had a good game actually. Against Cheltenham he was a bit shit, yeah, although that was also overblown a bit (could have easily finished the game with a goal and an assist). I think in general Pep doesn't trust him that he can do the same as Zinchenko or Cancelo in this current system, which sadly is probably true. It doesn't look like anytime soon that we would revert to the forward bombing fullback system, so...

Or maybe against Southampton? If we don't lose against United, I could see some heavy rotating in action.

Glad he's out of the squad. He doesn't deserve to be part of what the rest of them are doing here, and hopefully we can cut our losses and get him out of the door in the summer. We might have to put up with him jumping all over the proper players for the Premier league celebrations at some point to get his face on the cameras, but hopefully that'll be the last of him here and he can slip off to French league mid table obscurity and that will be that

Cancelo played like a traditional LB last night, 1st half especially. For Pep to set us up that way and Mendy to not even make the bench says it all.

He is done here. I know a lot don't rate him, but I think it is a shame. When we purchased him, there was a player there. I don't believe he was like other poor purchases where we bought a turd player. Injuries killed him.

We will take a massive hit on what we paid for him, but getting any kind of fee/wages off the books is preferable to him sitting around taking up a space in the squad.

not being in the squad - despite a makeshift lb and a Rb playing in his position - says it all really

was supportive of him as with all city players- but his career has been wasted unfortunately at City. Hope there is a solution in the summer

If we sell him this summer, his outstanding book value is £10.4 million.
If we received anything above that, then it will be booked as profit.

Say we sell him for £20 mill, it would give us a profit of £9.6 mill.
So although we paid £52m for him, in reality we wouldn’t be taking a hit.

I would be amazed if we got anything more than a loan where we pay half his wages. I cant see anyone parting with serious cash for someone with his injury record, especially in the current COVID climate.

His problem (apart from injuries)in our set up is he isn't technical enough, everyone in the squad are technically excellent, pep wants technical and intelligence, mendy is a flying lb, we don't do power though ,we do passing
