He looked genuinely buzzing yesterday, like it had taken him a long time to get to this point. Had me smiling ear-to-ear just seeing the delight on his face after he'd scored. He was good yesterday.

Congratulations to Mendy , decent game and an important goal , but one good game in every dozen isnt good enough , all the "i told you so's" on here well done , but i didnt see any of you getting that excited when the team was announced.
Mendy has had deserved criticism because he has looked nothing like a £60m full back since he arrived at the club , and he is behind Zinchenko and Cancelo in the left back pecking order. that doesnt detract from the fact he had a good game against Leicester and if he played like that more often he wouldnt get criticism.

I’d say to Mendy there are 7 Prem league games left. Make them yours, try and get back into the French National Team and come back raring to go.

We can afford to play him in the league and leave the other games for Zinc and Joao.

How great would it be if Mendy could rise from the ashes like John Stones? After two career-threatening injuries it would be amazing but I wouldn't put anything past Pep. That was Mendy's best performance for two years last night against a very dangerous Leicester attack.

I can’t see it, sadly. His movement is too cumbersome for him to be a Pep player. Hopefully he can play well enough in his remaining games of this season to get a move to a club that suits his style better.

You are probably right but you never know. If Mendy recovers enough to use as a back-up it might give us more options. He wasn't cumbersome before his injuries or at Monaco. Zinchenko (now Captain of Ukraine) has been superb this season and we can still play Cancello, Laporte or Ake on the left. That said I wouldn't like to see Mendy lining up against Sane or Serge Gnabry of Bayern!

We have half a dozen top class defenders , which you could perm any four from six , a shame Garcia decided to jump ship he could have developed further under Pep
