Worrying me that Akanji seems to be Peps 1st pick at CH and I can’t see what is justifying it.
Laporte should always be in on the left with Dias or Stones next to him
Seems to me like Pep always does that. When someone new comes in, it's almost like it's his position to lose. The existing players, no matter how well they've played, seem to have to prove themselves worthy to hold/regain their place. Happened to Stones when Dias signed, even though he had an excellent previous season, seems to be happening w/ Dias vs Akanji, w/ Akanji now being almost like an automatic starter. I've noticed this for awhile, I guess it is a motivational technique.

Pathetic defending for their goal, I screamed at him to get tight and watched as he backed away and let that happen, sadly that's becoming a trait of his, it isn't close to the first time he's done that.

I think it's becoming more and more apparent the more he plays that after an amazing start, he's a significant step down from the other 4 centre backs we have. That's a ridiucliusly high bar to match, he's still valuable to the squad and will make a significant contribution but we're seeing why we were able to get him for the price we did.

Not sure how this guy is getting away without any criticism.

He's had more poor games for us than good, and gave Gray far too much time and space to shoot today.
He gets away with it because he doesn't have the baggage of a huge transfer fee. theres a reason he cost what he did and its becoming clearer every week.

Stones was excellent the season before signing Dias? That's not how I remember it at all, he was on the verge of being our on his arse as he'd been shite for about 3 years. Dias came in, Stones played with Dias and regained his confidence. Laporte was the one to miss out iirc, after dropping some clangers of his own
