He is better than Dias and Ake with the ball .
Gonna have to disagree a bit there, I don't think there's much to separate them, but Akanji has had alot more mistimed passes in bad spots than any of our defenders this season.

It's literally my main gripe with him, even some of his correctly aimed passes can be overhit with too much power. Yes its nitpicky, but for Man City you have to be nitpicky about passing, it has to be perfect.

He has also improved on being a bit more aggressive, he had moments of being passive as well which have improved.

He was excellent last night. I’ve been very unsure about him at times, his pace, reading of the game and awareness have concerned me. However, couldn’t be faulted last night.

For 15million he's been a bargain. Probably featured more then any of our CBS bar ake maybe. Never injured. Not perfect but he seems to love it here which is a great plus.

Could have had a hat trick the other night. There's a clip after haalands goal where stones starts laughing at manu as he was upset he wasn't the one to finish

I’ve said this previously but he’s one of those players who is proof that mentality is so important at this level.

He’s got all the physical tools in the world to be genuinely world class but he just lacks that bit of edge that someone like Dias has. I thought he played much better in the second half.

I am not Swiss. I am not his agent. I have not followed him from Dortmund. But.

I don’t get the criticism that he’s getting from some quarters. I have yet to see a perfect centre half. Look at Liverpool’s. Look how Dias and Stones have had indifferent spells.

I can’t see he did a lot wrong today. Yes he played them on for the goal but others could I have done better. I thought he was solid and importantly in a Pep team he passed the ball well.

Can be great, but has a mistake in him, and costs us a goal every now and again, like today. Dortmund fans told us as much, and they were right. Should not be starting every week, but he is a solid back-up to have.

Thought he was very good passing through their press, especially when Liverpool could still be arsed in the first half. His ability to pass first-time with either foot is really useful

However, he was caught out for their goal, and I was disappointed when he went into a challenge really weakly that could have resulted in Rodri getting a second booking

We have 4 CB's starting, so not a surprise he is playing.

He was the weakest of our 4, and at fault for the goal, but also just his first season, and I think more often than not, we are seeing better and better understanding of his game in our team from game to game.

And I've been his biggest critique since the beginning.

I suppose some just have to have somebody to berate. Not a single player on the pitch today that didn't stand up to the task and perform. No reason whatsoever to dig him out today. He was very good and you have to remember he is the reason why we can play John stones as the right back/6 without him, walker simply has to be on the pitch and that tactic which played a key role in us smashing them today goes out of the window.

He’s been a bargain. Considering he’s come straight into our team I think he’s done well. He’s not the most agile of defenders and can get turned, but his passing and pace make up for it.
