I don't like scapegoating of players and there's no need to be rude about them.

Mahrez just wants to play every game and finds it hard when he doesn't. That is quite different to not trying etc. Last season he was arguably or second best player after KDB.
You'd certainly get an argument if you tried to claim that

Based on whoscored.com's stats based rankings, he was the fourth highest ranked player in the league last season; Kev was the top ranked on that measure.

The same measure had Gabby, Rodri and Walker as City's best players in last night's match in exactly the same order as the Blue Moon vote.

It's not perfect but it is a reasonable guide and a consistent way to measure performance. Far more objective than your average supporter.

I won't say he hasn't been poor at times, as he has, but the criticism he gets can be way OTT.

Hopefully he'll hit top form soon and put the haters back in their box (ala Gundo and Rodri).

He's definitely talented and did well last season, but this is his 7th season in the Prem. He's been POTY before and he's in a much better team. He gets the simple things wrong a lot and there's no reason why he shouldn't be getting double figures for goals and assists.

Quite frankly i would not have bought him, i think his goals have masked poor performances, my description of him would have been feeble, but if you watch him his performances, for the last year at least have been far more determined with him putting in solid work. i do not think it is Marhez that is the problem with Torres having exactly the same problems, I put it down to Pep and so far it is working

I've been hoping for a long time he might gel in our system and suddenly start firing but it just doesn't happen. He's not the same player as Sterling so he's not going to drift in behind in the same way, he wants the ball to feet. But when he gets it he's largely looking to beat the defender time and time again and if he does get into space he invariably fails to put the ball in the net and/or doesn't pick out a player in a better position.

If he could just get the decision making/finishing right he'd be an incredible player for us because his control and ability on the ball is fantastic.
