Class footballer , his control and touch is better than most midfielders , its took 12 months but we have a hell of a player on our hands

I wasn’t even aware that Walker was a problem, but this guy is now my undisputed number one full back at the club. Absolutely world class talent. Pep’s played with false full backs before but I’ve never seen one with so much quality, he’s practically a playmaker. Him and Zin, fucking incredible.

His appetite for the game is phenomenal. He gets through so much work I often think he’s taking banned substances to hit these levels.

Cancelo is just unbelievable. I think his technique is one of the best in the world and he’s a right back.

The way he passes the ball in tight spaces is amazing. Pressed by two, three players and he keeps the ball and passes it on like it’s elementary. Does this all the time.

I just love how comfortable he is with holding onto the ball in our third and drawing two or three opponents over to him. It'll bite us on the arse every now and then but the rest of the time he's creating space for teammates, particularly on the other side.

I didn't rate him at all last season. Just shows how much I know. Walker was our most consistent player early this season but this guy has talents that Kyle can only dream of.

That Pep is getting a consistent tune out of Zinchenko just shows the level of coaching and tactical discipline that creates a framework in which our players can perform at their very best. He did it with Delph as well.

I wonder if Mendy fails because he doesn't understand what Pep wants rather than him being a poor footballer.

Imagine what a joy it is to play in this team at the moment. For a proper footballer, like Cancelo, the opportunity to be on the ball so much, shifting into midfield and launching attacks or to take it forward, with aplomb, safe in the knowledge that another 'total footballer' has your back, must be an absolute joy. I said, yesterday, that we have an ability to totally control games now and it is because of technical excellence in every position and a coach who can take that to levels beyond anyone else.

I said when he was at Juventus that he was the best right-back in the world. Last year I felt I'd been conned a little bit. Turns out he was just settling and I think I was right all along.
