Elite player, multi-functional, full of different types of skills - manager`s dream..
The reason I like inverted fullbacks is that - it's something other clubs don't have. Yes, there are lucas dignes, wan bissakas, azpilcuetas, ben chilwells and etc. and etc. but when you compare them to our inverted fullbacks - they are just limited and therefore easy to guess. Like, you know what to expect from them and it's easy to defend against or create a pre-match plan how to cope with them..
I think that was the problem with last year`s Mendy & Walker pair - because we had a.k.a inverted wingers and fullbacks were playing wide, always crossing the ball and doing the stuff - everyone expects from them to do. And now when you are planning what to do against Cancelo - you have no fucking idea :D He can be here and there, playing wherever Pep decides to use him and this is something that gives you advantage and more players you have like cancelo - there is more chance to win the title and I think that's the reason of this season`s success.
On the one hand, football is becoming more and more standard, pragmatic and etc. so it's difficult to build a team even if you have a lot of money, have some success and win the titles (like Chelsea this year..), but on the other hand if you build your transfer policy around multi-functionality - you definitely have the chance to be above all the others.
