6 maybe not. 8? He is probably better than Gundogan at it at this point. Not the passer Gundo is ( neither is Gundo late either anyway), but he makes fantastic runs and has very good movement and vision.Surprised how good he was playing left wing.
Seems versatile, remains to be seen if he can play a 6 (doubtful) or even 8 role.
One of my best mates was born in Lisbon and is a big Sporting fan. Before he joined, he would rave about him and how Brazil & Portugal were fighting over this guy because he could play for both. When he joined City he told me Pep was going to make him into one of the best 6's or double pivot guys in the world but clearly Pep see's different from his skillset. Being physical in Portuguese league and in the PL is completely different, he didn't need to use that at Wolves as much because he was used in a more attacking capacity but at City you need to have both. Look at Bernardo now, when he was at Monaco he was purely an attacking player but at City he is everything and even last night you saw him holding players off. Nunes needs a run of games. He can play as a supporting 6 alongside Rodri, carrying the ball forward and tracking back, or as a pure 8. I truly enjoyed watching Nunes at Sporting, and I hope he can show what he's capable of in this City shirt. Agree, he's got running power that nobody really in our team has in those areas. We just need to figure out how to use it and he's now had some time to adapt to how we break lines as well. He had a decent performance in the CL Group Stage last season against Young boys but we didn’t see him again for four weeks, and when we did, he put in a really poor sub’s perfornance away at Villa where it looked like he didn’t want to be there.
He needs to play again either this weekend or against Spurs in the EFL Cup next midweek. Give him a confidence boost for the performance the other night.
