Kompany was the same post-Mancini, and his performances and body suffered. Going to ground should be an absolute last resort, not your default reaction.

If you're in the box and trying to block a shot, you have reached your point of last resort, surely?

It was a very similar maneuver the defense did in a particular instance against Neymar. The difference being after Dias diverted the attacker, Stones and Zinchenko followed up with the exact blocks. This time however, Bernardo was in the same position as Stones but didn't commit himself the way Stones did.
