This is his 5th start now after yet another injury, how long do we have to wait for him to get fit ?
If he never recovered fully and come.back too early, playing before he's fully fit is just going to prevent a full recovery.

Another one like Ake & Akanji before him who are playing whilst not 100%.

This season is a fucking disaster (relatively speaking before someone shouts York away…)

I presume that he'll get the contract extension. Hope so, anyway. Yes, he's been below his best this season. Which of our players haven't? Very few, I'd suggest.

It made me laugh. I saw a compilation of his game away at Madrid and if it wasn't for him (and Khusanov) then we'd have been battered even more than we were. Other than the mistake for the first, he was fantastic.

No chance we let him go.

Thought exactly the same i thought he saved our arses numerous times. Yea he got the one at the start wrong. I felt that one came too early in the game for him and if it would have happened 20 minutes in he'd have dealt with it, but the commentators and pundits focused on the mistake so that's what was amplified.

I think he's looking good again we just need him to stay fit and pep not to run him into the ground. Hope he stays til retirement or thereabouts

Khusanov will cement that RCB spot very quickly imo.

Dias is obviously completely welcome to stay and I recognise the leadership qualities he brings to the team. He’s a good defender but he isn’t elite imo and has always been slightly overrated by the fanbase. He’s slow, not that great in the air and nothing special on the ball

He was PL player of the year not so long ago.
He'll come good again.

He'll be the LCB. That said, his leadership qualities are exactly why he is so highly rated. A very good defender with World Class leadership skills.

I expect him to be the leader of the defense next season and potentially captain of the team. Its him, Rodri and Haaland come next season.

His leaderships skills are obviously fantastic but isolating his footballing abilities - he isn’t elite.

Hopefully we bring in a younger LCB whilst retaining the experience of our senior CB’s

Who would you consider elite?
Van Dyke? Saliba?

"Leader of the defence" will depend on Stones' availability, who is head and shoulders above Dias when it comes to marshalling the defence.

Captaincy (should De Bruyne relinquish it or is not on the pitch) will fall on Rodri, who is driven enough to want to lead, Bernardo (if he stays)/ Dias and then Haaland, should the others be rested.

That's the natural order of things in drive and leadership.
