Absolutely - very few of us get information first hand, so we all have to make our own decisions about who we trust and who we don’t trust.
That wasn’t really the point I was making though.
It’s the melodrama in the reactions we’re now seeing more regularly on here that reeks of the level of infantile hysteria that’s standard order on most social media channels, Twitter being the worst offender.
The format is all targeted at engagement, so it pays to make extreme statements to provoke either way.
You can see the posters who spend too much time on those channels a mile off, as they come across like a four year old in a tantrum - yelling their brand of intransigent, absurdist nonsense like it’s some sort of deeply evidenced fact when in reality it’s little more than a barely formed, reactive opinion.
It’s sad, as this place used to be a bit more conversant - rather than a platform for a bunch of ill-informed trolls yelling at each other with no middle ground.
