30 years ago - 22nd / 23rd March Full Members Cup Final weekend

30 years!!!! Thanks for making me feel so old! ;)

Remember it so well, listened to both games on radio manc, and still have my 1986 diary with a page written about the final (i was only 11 after all!) - seem to remember it saying if there'd been another 5 minutes we'dve equalised. I thought Mark Lillis was a god ;)
Have a "wembley 86" rosette somewhere with all my old city stuff.
 
Hate to be a miserable old bastard, but I thought it was an absolute embarrassment that we even took part in the FMC that season . We were the only top division club to do so in the northen section, while other than finalists Chelsea, only relegated WBA and nearly relegated Oxford took part in the south. In retrospect, I'm glad we didn't win it and have Swales laughably claiming it constituted a major trophy (as he would have and as it definitely didn't).
 
Denied a clear penalty in the dying minutes. But all forgotten now. Not even thought about it since. Don't even think about that cheating low life, spawn of the devil, black enamel bastard of a ref.
 
Dragged out by an angry dad when 5-1 down (I was 8)
Pulled up at a garage for petrol and found out it finished 5-4. Angry dad was even angrier... Great day :-)
