33 | Nico O'Reilly - 2025/26

really impressed, he improved massively in the tackles since last season. Nearly always the right timing for the tackle to win the Ball 1v1. This will guarantee him much more Game time as he was one of our best Players.

Very good performance. I wonder if he’d been on the pitch whether we’d have conceded the goal?

Thought he dealt with Madueke and Saka very well. He looks like our first choice LB to me, even if Ait-Nouri is fit.

My MOTM for yesterday.

If he carries on this trajectory then he will be too good for fullback.
For me, he can be amazing in midfield. Already proved he can score goals.
Could cover for Rodri now he has improved his defensive awareness. Think he would do a better job than gonzo.
However, I think slightly more forward. Gundog position would suit him well. Probably means reindeer adopting slightly new position

Nico is a great talent. He will have ups and downs but he is learning and his physicality gives him an obvious advantage. I think he stays in and around the team this year, with regular minutes, but we may see him popping up in different positions in different fixtures. For example, a central midfield of Nico, Nico, and Cherki has creativity and physicality, and could easily be a cup option.

Ait-Nouri is going to have a hard time getting back in.

Thought Nico was absolutely outstanding. What an incredible performance. He's up against Madueke and Saka and pocketed them both. He's just getting better and better.

Yeah I too think Ait-Nouri is underwhelming defensively and fine going forward.

Nico is just a complete diamond. It's like Pep's created his own version of Jude.

He’s going to be a top player & certainly has all the physical attributes.

However the times he has been put in midfield where I thought he would thrive it’s clear it’s far too early for him. It’s probably one of the most difficult positions for play in a Pep team where he looked lost with a deer in the headlights look as the speed of the game passed him by.

So far his attributes seem to favour the left back role & if he can work on his positional awareness he could really make it his own especially with his eye for a goal.

Coming on leaps and bounds. Totally comfortable playing in the premier league and champs league against top opposition. Looks like he’s got all the tools.
