My first musical influence - and I was more affected by his death when I was aged 14 than I was by Bowie's death last year...
Interesting how he influenced the next group of bands that came after glam had ended that I subsequently got into...

Didn't Elton play the piano for the group on TOTP sometimes? I have just put some of his stuff on now it never ever gets old.

My dear departed Mum always said that there had to be something wrong with him because he was too good looking to be a man :) But she did like a bit of T-Rex and thought he was a "Wonderful" young man.

Fascinated by this and if you have an hour it's worth watching - Bolan's family received zilch, never got a penny, (from monies earned back then nor subsequent royalties) all the money is stashed in secret accounts in the Bahamas and no one knows who is controlling it or benefiting from the millions.
Even his son couldn't claim any of it, until very recently, as he was an illegitimate child and only when the law changed a few years back was he entitled to a claim.
