I was undecided whether to put this in the Raz or Foden thread, but I thought I’d leave it here as I’d say there’s a longer discussion to be had re: Foden.

Firstly, it’s incredibly encouraging to hear Sterling continue to show his maturity and leadership skills, passing his experiences on to younger players and looking out for them.

I don’t want to say worryingly, but I hope Foden can remain strong during what must be arguably a very tough period for him. There’s a lot of frustration and impatience building around him, ultimately fans only want what they think is best for him, but I hope it doesn’t become a burden.

Isn't it a real pity that raz learnt that when he was young and now has to talk to a 19yr old about it,i actually dread phil playing for the senior england side, when the players like henderson won't pass to him it'll all be phil's fault
Scapegoats in order
Raz for a couple of yrs, only stopped when he stood up to racism and they had no choice, itv had to stop being dicks about him during games
Moved on to ky until he was dropped so they had to stop
Moved onto john,as the only one who can play out and the other twats couldn't do it then john got all the blame,i think that hasn't helped him
Up next,phil...

You’re right mate. Sadly it runs deeper than just football, we’ve seen that very recently with Caroline Flack. We have a serious issue in this country with mob mentality spearheaded by the press.

The worse thing is now the genie is out of the bottle there is no putting it back in,life was much simplier before the internet and hacks were a more respectable breed

But we can still see many positives from the internet, look at young Quaden Bayles for instance. What we need to learn to do is right the wrongs (such as the crusades from the hacks). We see an issue, we fix it. The question is where that falls, is it solely on the tech companies who provide the platform to amplify their cause, is it down to the government of their residence, etc.

As someone who works and liaises with reps at companies such as Facebook, Twitter and Tik Tok, etc., on a daily basis, it's not an easy fix, but they can only do so much. OFCOM have recently acquired more powers to regulate social media within the UK, but I know there's a lot of disappointment that they haven't (so far) sought the advise of the tech / creative / advertising industry. At the moment we risk it being regulated by people who don't quite understand it. Although some might argue that's inline with how we act within the UK...

Among the regulars next season as Merlin will no longer be casting spells. Phil will be happy with that.

The trouble with the internet is literally anyone in the world can hassle you knowing nothing you can do but block them,it's human nature to want to see what people are saying about you and of course the youngsters don't know any difference and can't step away

Anyway back to phil,he has some sensible people giving him advice
