As a City fan first, I'm annoyed that Foden hasn't played more. I really hoped this would be the tournament that announces him to the rest of Europe.
I think this is a really valid POV, but even looking at it exclusively as a City fan I don't mind too much.

100% I'd prefer him to be playing, and I think he's got what it takes, but as far as Foden announcing himself I'm not worried.

The CL knockout games did a lot to elevate Foden's presence for starters. Secondly, although it'd be cool to see him make a statement, it's not like it won't happen eventually. There's a good chance this season that he'll have a game against someone high profile where he single-handedly annihilates them. If not this season, the next. He's just that talented.

It's like when he wasn't getting games for City and people were getting upset about his future development. Relaaax. The cream always rises. Patience is a virtue, ESPECIALLY with Foden.

He could still play again anyway. Southgate's made a few sudden changes already, he might make another

At least he's had the chance to play too, and he got to start the first match. Compared to Rashford, who's gone from joint 1st choice winger to 5th choice winger and 3rd choice striker in only a year. He's yesterday's news already and he's only 23.

Foden's time will come , he has just turned 21 has half a dozen medals ,and played in a Champs league final , he will be the mainstay of the national team for a decade or more the fact an ultra defensive manager who is shit scared of taking the game to the opposition despite having a plethora of attacking talent at his disposal actually matters little at this stage of Foden's development , although frustrating for our fans.
He will be making headlines for England long after Southgate has moved to manage a Championship club.

Foden is just easy low hanging fruit for a spineless manager like southgate. Of course its him that gets dropped.

The fact he keeps sterling out for us speaks more.

Hardly spineless, he’s just doing his job and he’s doing pretty good at it at the minute. Sterling is an established England player who Southgate trusts. Foden has had a handful of England caps and hasn’t really impressed to much. His time will come.

Whats his best position is ? ( LW, RW or CM )
CM easily but he's soo good he can play LW/RW at a high level. Pep hasn't been playing him at his original position since there are a few things he needs to work on such as pausa because he is still playing very quickly and franticly which is not good in the middle where you need to be calm and composed. Once he grasps that he will go back into midfield. He's only 21 so he can continue playing out wide deputising Gundogan for another season or two. By the way, talking about pausa, I did see the Rio interview before the CL final and he interviewed Foden telling him that Pep told him he needs to play slower and Foden said that "he's starting to understand" what Pep has been saying so I guess that's a good sign.
