I doubt both of those points to be fair. He’s an exceptionally talented young footballer playing for the club he loves. He isn’t a god that is the embodiment of all the club and us as fans should stand for just yet...

The superleague is abhorrent for sure.

But if it's inevitable - our ownership needs to be certain that we're part of this otherwise we're going to be irrelevant on the international stage.

Fans are against the superleague. Players are against the superleague. FIFA/UEFA/and extant national leagues are 100% against this. It's a power/money grab. With such strong opposition, I'm hoping that there's a good chance that this concept fails outright.

Sanctions against players seem - to me - very much off target. The players have nothing to do with this mess.
