The false nine dilemma is a complete trap for blues. I spent years defending Jesus playing it. We get trapped into it expecting Kun like output and it will never happen. It’s all about pressing and adding an extra midfielder. That’s it. You won’t get a lot of chances and you won’t really create chances. Doesn’t matter who you throw in. Phil, Kevin, Jack, gabby, or Bernardo. You get the heat yet we win game after game after game.

Feel vindicated for saying that the striker position was overrated years ago!

I thought he was good in spells, should have had an assist or two. I just don’t think he’s in the game enough as he should be, he’s got the ability to run games by himself.

Should have had an assist but otherwise kind of quiet, he needs to get that spark back. The effort is there.

Don't mean this as a criticism but Phil has not taken the step forward I thought he would this season. He has the ability to be one of the best players on the planet, but he needs to find the consistency to take it to the next level. He grew a bit into the game in the second half, but still wasn't his best showing.

The ability is there, and so is the opportunity, but he's got to make the most of it.
