He's got everything to be a great modern day, midfield general - skill, ball control, ball retention, deceptive speed, great passing ability, awareness of where he and others are on the pitch, he tackles and he scores goals.

It's amazing that he's ours, i luv him as a player already and he's still not the finished article!
He's no Colin Bell though is he? :-)

AWB was a tough matchup for him but he still contributed heavily.

that no look shot he does completely throws off keepers. Look at De Gea on his shot that hits the post, he goes the completely wrong way.

Shown so much maturity today. Didn't need to make something happen everytime he got it as we have needed from him of late. Shown the game intelligence to make space for others, dragging wan bissaka everywhere and do what was best for the team every single time. Gutted he didn't score should have if we're being critical but the intelligence in that performance was fantastic to see and simply has to play left wing every game, we lose too much from him as false 9

I wonder can he eventually become a controlling midfielder like a pirlo or scholes?.

That’s his position today.

He sees less of the ball out wide but I think what he does with it is more dangerous than when he’s in the middle.

The team is also better balanced when he’s on the left, particularly with Cancelo behind him.

Agree with the comments regarding his finishing, as he’s been a bit wasteful of late. Still head and shoulders above anyone in their team though.

agree with your last point. When I see him winding up to shoot, I think it's going in, unlike others in the team.

At the moment yeah but still see him developing into a top midfielder in the future. He just so good on the ball that I can only see central midfielder as his position once he learns the role properly and matures imo, he will be scary.

tbh it depends on the opposition, he is equally good wide and the center

Yeah, I've seen Foden play great centrally in very recent fixtures, and he's given Liverpool enough trouble from the right beforehand.

I know it's easy to but I don't think it's constructive for City fans to be fixated over positions with Pep in charge. Foden, Bernardo, Jesus, Sterling, De Bruyne, Gundogan, Cancelo, Zinchenko are a collective of players that have all showcased great moments in multiple positions in their City careers, and hopefully Torres, Grealish, Palmer, and Aké can add to that list in the future.

Foden could probably play anywhere outside of centre back and goalkeeper and do a good job of it given the time to adapt.

Made me laugh when his mate, Greenwood, got substituted, I’d completely forgotten he was on pitch.
