Did you not see him try and outside of the foot shot when free just inside the box or again avoiding using his right foot when Mahrez played it into him around the penalty spot?

Kevin would have scored at least one of those chances because he can use both feet at a world class level.
Comparing him to a 2 footed world beater in KDB is a bit harsh. Agree he should have shot with his right but it’s not like he hasn’t scored a few with his right foot. Plenty of players have been much more one footed than Foden.

Was great to see him more central first half where he looked class at times.

Obviously he will never be near Kevin but it just seemed very stark to me tonight.

I feel like if you want to be a good goalscorer you cant just use one foot for standing on only.

Foden isn't one footed and I have seen him scoring from his right even from outside the box so he isn't just standing on the other foot.

I was thinking the same when I saw this first time "why didn't he strike it with his right?" but looking at the replay I though there was no space and time for right footed shot. Defender was coming back and his body position made it hard to shot from his right foot fast. He would have to take another step to make it happen so for me he was just improvising for fast shot not been relucant to shot with right foot.

I will look for replay but this is what I was thinking from watching it from 2 replays on tv. I may be wrong od course.

He had very good game with Cole, Mahrez, Alvarez etc. making lots of passes and shame he got his chance in the middle when game was closed, they were defending well, and we were far from optimal 11. Second half when more first teamers came on and game was more open he went back to more wide position. I would like to see him in the middle when we play first 11. He would have more options to spray passes to and could shine.

I thought he played well. Pep's obsession with him playing on the wing isn't ideal in my eyes but as long as he's on the pitch. Deserved at least an assist tonight, I thought.

I agree he played well but something he needs to work on to reach the likes of Kevin's level.

Cause he is our best winger, even though he can play midfield positions at a very high level...

I’m slightly concerned about his fitness. Pep has mentioned it and TBH I thought it was just an excuse. However, I thought he looked knackered after being on for 30 mins. I know we were down to 10 men but surely he can manage 30 mins without looking dead on his feet. More concerning is how he is likely to be handled at the WC. We can’t get 2 games a week out of him but that won’t stop Southgate running him into the ground.

I'm getting frustrated with Phil similar as I am with Jack, I know it's Peps philosophy keep the ball and stretch teams, the problem I'm having is it's every time in every game, stop pass sideways or backwards, rinse and repeat, it's boring.
The sad thing is when they do drive at defences we're a totally different team, look at the derby when they both shredded the scums fullbacks.

Our set up might be stifling his individuality but unfortunately for him he will have to get used to it whilst Pep is in charge. The team is the most important thing and it’s not done us too bad so far.

He looked fucked 5 mins after coming in. Was pissed off that He gave up the chase on ball in the channel that he could have kept in.
