Clearly very talented however like it or not piss weak physically and mentally. Consistently asking for the ball when is clearly not in space to receive. I said before we’ve paid him far too much £££ so early in his career and he has won everything so what motivation does he have. The shit 47 tattoo sums his performances up this year.

It was a bad pass. I said as much earlier, but it happens. You can count on one hand the number of times he's played a bad pass that has directly led to goals over his already long career, hence why I said some of you are incredibly reactionary. Rodri, KDB, Silva, etc., have all been directly responsible for opposition goals over their careers- it happens.

Of course they have but Rodri and Bernardo play in that position, they make about 100 touches in that area. Of course it can happen but Foden absolutely crumbled in that position - mistake after mistake. It's not even a question of bad execution - you simply don't try that pass away from home a minute after you equalise

I don’t think I’ve ever been disappointed with Foden ever before today. I am critical of things that he’s missing from his game but always thought he’d iron them out or improve on them eventually.

But I think that performance and attitude from him today was not good enough for a player of his stature in the team.

He’s been in the first team for 7 years now, he should be one of our most dominant men in the squad, and as last season’s POTS (even though it really should have been Rodri), he needs to show much more leadership qualities in big games, especially when Rodri and Dias are missing and De Bruyne isn’t on the pitch.

He still plays like he’s a juvenile member of the squad, and shrinks a bit on the pitch when things aren’t going our way or his way individually, still like a young player shows. He needs to grow up on the pitch now, it’s his time to show he’s the next leader in the team. Throwing his arms about and playing with a face like a slapped arse when teammates aren’t doing exactly what he wants them to or they make a mistake isn’t part of that. He needs to be encouraging to others and showing he can’t be flustered and leading by example to newcomers like Marmoush and youngsters like Savinho.

Them stats are fucking horrendous

This forum has a real problem with reactionary comments when emotions are running high after a horror show of a match.

He wasn’t good today and he totally lost it after the awful pass that Partey pounced on. Deservedly hooked. However it is vanishingly rare that he makes a mistake like that. The pile on is a bit much and it’s been worst in his thread all season, even when we’re also slating most the other players. Partly because our expectations were so high after his brilliant last season.

Do I think there’s some truth in some of the reactionary comments - yes. He’s not a leader on the pitch and he’s not an aggressive player. There’s a mental fragility about Phil that’s been very evident since the euros and he admitted to that last week. He’s been much better in last couple of months. I hope now he can shake today off and show that again. I for one will be backing him (and all the others) because I know full well what he’s capable of and what he’s done for City in the last few years.

He’s not the becoming the player we all thought he’d become. Take the goals way he offers very little to the team.

Great tats and little boys haircuts but he’s almost 25! Let’s all blame Southgate though!

Take the goals away ?? the most important thing in football? Take Luke Litters dart throwing away and he has nothing the useless twat.

Not blaming Southgate at all mate. Don’t think he’s anything to do with it. I don’t agree Foden offers little to the team without the goals but you’re right to say he’s not done what we thought he would this season. Frankly he might be better off next season when our expectations aren’t so high. Doubt anyone is more disappointed than Phil.

I told my brother that Pep was going to hook him because his passing was poor and constantly putting us on the back foot.

He’s been terrible all season, with the exception of a few recent games where he found his shooting range and was making runs.

Today, he was playing RM/RW, but did nothing. Compare that to Savinho…and he just showed up!

Foden, like many, is living on yesterdays. This business is about “What have you done for me lately?”!

He needs to wake the fuck up.

How are we getting on without Rodri? Also were his goals just missing for England ? David Silva also was a stats man!
