I assume you don’t attend games. Grealish, Nunez and Mcatee better than Foden, even this season ? You are on the wind up.

Not a wind up, just my personal opinion on each player's contribution this season.

I simply expect more from Phil Foden tbh. IMO, he's playing at 50%, struggling with his form and effectively 'disappearing' for chunks of games. He needs a proper break.

Both Nunez and McAtee are clearly playing at a level above their ability but you can see that they give 100% when given the chance, particularly Nunez who has usually been expected to play out of position.

Jack Grealish has simply been restricted by Pep's tactics/instructions. He's been wasted (no pun intended) at City. He's a far better player than we've seen of him.

In my view, the whole team and Pep have looked jaded and underperformed massively this season. While that may be understandable for some after five or six years of intensity, the decline in Phil's game at 24 years of age is the most worrying for me.

He needs a proper break or a change. I'd obviously rather see him stay with us and hopefully get to play with better players around him next season.

I was right when I said you don't attend matches.

I do feel for the lad. He's still so young and he's essentially played the highest stakes football that any English lad has ever played while fighting dodgy health and other unknown issues in his family or personal life. The club and the fans need to put their arm round him and make him feel loved. He's still younger than when D Silva or Kev came to us, there's a lot of football left for him to give us.

He'll come good again next season; class is permanent etc. I hope it's an underlying injury that's caused the malaise, and not an attitude thing. If it is attitude thing then it's the point of no return.

I'd adjust his role slightly and let him compete with Marmoush to be the 2nd striker to Haaland.

His greatest strength is in short, quick actions in the final third, let's utilise it.

Between the "Nunes and Mcatee" shout and the "Pep has wasted Grealish" shout that post has to be some sort of bingo for stupidity.
Yes it is incredible how ignorant some people are. Presumably he is not aware of why Grealish has been a car crash this season or that he has been supported throughout by Pep. I asssume he is also not aware of the full background to Foden's issues. I just despair sometimes with some of the comments on here.

That's what I've been trying to get across on here recently. My only concerns are how quickly Phil lost form, and how poor he's been compared to the previous season.

The lad needs a break.
Reckon the all the regular players need a rest during ‘close season’ but we know it ain’t happening…….

Phil is the biggest case study of how badly the schedule has been post-Covid, and how much this is impacting successful clubs. Weird long season in 20, delayed Euros in 21 (reaching the final), weird winter world cup in 22 which shortened both summers either side, euros again in 24 (final again), and now club world cup 25, and a world cup again next summer.

I know they're paid a lot, but ultimately they're playing in a pressure cooker where even one small mistake could cost you a league and where millions of people are evaluating every movement. Of course he's knackered.

Worldwide Football Associations are just mercenary……
