He’d be a great player if he concentrated on the football match and not the referee all the time. He folllws the ref around claiming everything is a foul or our throw in or our corner even when it’s blatant that it’s not our ball and they aren’t fouls.
He’s got his arms in the air with a fake crying face at the ref as much as he’s had the ball at his feet.
Why he does this I have no idea. Does my head in though. Just play football, he’s great at it.

Phil just isn't Phil any more. He looks a million miles away from the potential Ballon D'or candidate he was.
He needs better players around him.

We need to stop talking about Foden as a promising youngster as his upward curve has virtually plateaued
He'll score more goals if playing further forward, but I can't think of many occasions where he's really stamped his authority on a game.
He seems to be missing Rodri's presence but Foden will never be the David Silva type of player that everyone was hoping for, and if anything he appears more suitable for the Gundogan role.
That's not necessarily a criticism as he can still beat Alan Oakes' all time appearance record, whilst also scoring regularly important goals.

I wish he'd just be open now about the problems he's very clearly still experiencing. It's all vague references to off-field matters but that's where the answers end. If he needs time then he needs time, but he needs to let us in.

I think we need to seriously consider moving him out of the centre and back to the right. I am starting to wonder if the POTY season's second half was just a purple patch. It's not like he's been benched but the performances just haven't been there or more accurately the performances haven't been up to the levels of David Silva/ Ilkay Gundogan/ KDB.
Are we expecting too much from him to just become a ballon d'or winner season in/ season out?

Going to get a lot of hate for this, but I think the only way he gets back to the player he was a few years ago is breaking out of the comfort zone and starting a fresh somewhere else.
That's not to say I want him sold, but I just think human beings in general need a fresh challenge when things start to become stale or lives put in cruise control.
Only a few players can stay at one place their entire lives and perform at an elite level throughout it.

yeah ,he most likely isn´t going to be a ballon dor winner like most here predicted 7 years ago and i personally thought he would be a much better and consistent player if he reaches age 25. Within 12 months from 23/24, he won the treble, 4 in a row and PFA POTY. That's when he won it all.

Isn't it entirely possible that he was mentally fatigued and injured last year, he's come back and looked better than he did last year which would fit a more realistic narrative than he's "drunk on success".
I think we do both ourselves and our players a disservice when we constantly say they’re not the new Gundo/David/KDB. Those expectations are setting ourselves up for disapointment.
He may not get back to POTY levels but doesn’t mean he can’t be a very good player for us. But if we expect him to be BDO candidate it just feels like we’re setting ourselves up for failure then we tear him and others apart every time we have a bad game

I've said similar a number of times. We have to bear in mind that Phil has been in the City 'bubble' since he was four... 21 years.
He's institutionalised at City. He's treated like a king by the club, staff, and fans. He's won everything there is to win, played at every level for his country. Played alongside, and matched, some of the greatest players in world football, at the very top level.
He's only 25. A multi-millionaire. I can't for one second believe that he hasn't thought... What's next? Where's the challenge?
I don't want him to leave, but tbh, if I was in his shoes I'd definitely be giving a big move some serious consideration.
