Judging by some of the refs we've had you don't need to do a lot. We had one once who was on his phone while the game was playing and when one of our players asked how long was left his reply was "oh for fuck sake". Theres another one who just does whatever anybody tells him

Its a good screw... a few of the lads i know do it in the lead up to xmas... but u have to be fair otherwise its a nightmare of a job.. u get cnuts like me screaming at u for 50mins...ha
