Solid as a rock , great interceptions/reading the game and not afraid of a physical battle , appears to have got his confidence back he always looks good alongside a competent centre back partner , and Dias certainly fits that description
The confidence he’s showing is seriously impressive, the hunger in chasing down forwards high up to win it back, the desire to win absolutely everything in the air, his pinpoint forward passing has all been world class during this run. Long may it continue right now the question is who partners Stones at the back.
Need need need to tie him down to a long term contract. Looks a new player and I think someone with Dias’ leadership qualities is really benefitting him.
On one hand You knew he had the ability but on the other it really did seem that his head and confidence had gone to the point of no return at least whilst he remained here. Looked even more doomed when Ake and Dias arrived. One or both of that pair must have done something to Stones because he has looked top draw since they arrived.
