We have no choice but to keep him about, Ray. But his ongoing niggling injuries are a constant worry and he'll be 32 when his contract expires so I doubt we'll renew it.

He still our best defender on our books but the injuries are the problem

Stones for Braithwaite 100%.

I have enjoyed watching Johnny and he is a great lad but he has dropped off alarmingly and his fitness is now beyond a joke.

We need some pace in that back line, except Akaji and Walker fading like the winter sun , we have little.

Braithwaite could be a good one.

Got a feeling right back, defensive mid and attacking mid might be where the money goes though. I also think we need more goals from out side.

Would have kept Eric and let Stones go. Not hindsight said it on the Eric thread at the time.

Could just give Callum Doyle a go next season? Can play left back and centre back and is very good on the ball. More likely we’ll sell him for £15 million and he’ll be great for someone else.

John Stones has given more than 100 percent on the pitch and I’m betting that he has appeared when he wasn’t fully fit thus making himself worse eventually but I’ve not heard him complain anywhere. He just got on with his job as best he could.
Give the guy some slack/credit. Let the club decide what to do not the fans. He has earned that concession from us surely?

I don’t think I’m letting my admiration for John Stones overshadow anything else but you can shout me down if you wish. :-) :-)

Allesandro Bastone is the next centre half we should be looking at buying, he’s an incredible player.

Few doubt his attitude and qualities. He’s simply a part time player who can’t be relied upon. Not his fault but there we go.
