I remember that photo being in one of the national papers at the time.
And also one of them with glasses of champagne in their hands, probably taken a little bit later on that day.
I was doing my mock o-levels at the time so it sticks in my mind.
It was also the time of the first lot of NUM strikes so there was no heating on in school.
Fucking freezing sat at a desk, wearing a coat,scarf,gloves and hat etc.
Only kids doing mocks were in school at that time, everybody else stayed at home.

I started watching City in December 1975 so never saw Rodney play for us. My impression was that he was a great crowd favourite, but that he had determined minority of detractors.
Would that be right? My dad was one of the latter - thought Marsh a great talent, but also a 'Fancy Dan' who didn't play for the team.
