52 | Oscar Bobb - 2025/26

'Frequently relied on'

He appeared in 29 of the 38 league game, scoring 3 goals and assisting 7

If that's the level of your content then fair enough
We have zero chance creation without doku and Nunes. So yes we relied on. If you still think Doku going against 2-3 players all the time doesn’t open up space for doesn’t then I don’t know what to tell you.

Just because we have little creation without him, doesn't make him the answer

I'd love him to be more consistent next season, otherwise he'll just be what he is now, which isn't good enough to warrant a place in a team bidding to win all 4 trophies every season

Bobb should not be loaned out or sold.

Let him stay for the year, he has still never played a full year as a proper squad player.

We gotta see what he can do, if it's not good enough at the end of the season (same with Doku, Savinho etc) then sure, sell them on or loan or whatever.

But I need to see him in the team properly first before jumping to such conclusions.

he needs to show himself this season, and given minutes to do that. he needs to avoid injuries as much as he can, as that can crush him again.

he is not or 19 he is 22. not everyone has same trajectory at this age level, but some 22 year old decent young players already have 50-100 PL starts in them and that means lot of experience.
Bobb has two PL starts next to his name. its now or never for him imo.

Loan him to leeds if they take back phillips.

We should be proactive and send him out on loan. Sometimes you just have to let players go develop.

We have Doku, Savio, Marmoush, Phil and Cherki. For 3 positions..I don't want Bobb on 6th man minutes. Go to Dortmund or Some other German team and start and play the whole season. Show your level.

But qe ate not gonna see what he can do when he is playing behind 4-5 guys.

Send him on loan to one of the upcoming teams. Brentford maybe or a weaker one. He needs game time. Lyon wouldn’t mind him either or Girona. Rather than sitting on the bench give this players game time ffs

I'd keep him, doing it for Brentford and how direct they tend to be is a world away from doing it for us. Same with most other teams.

But the key is to get game time. Doing it for Lyon is a world away from doing it for us too, yet it didn't stop us going to get Cherki for doing it there.

I think players like Bobb have a natural advantage. He has been in the system.

Understands the intricacies already. Now its time for him to fo sink or swim. If he balls out at Brentford, you know he is coming back to stake a 1st team starter claim.

If he doesn't, then perhaps he'll never be ready. And City was always a step too far anyway. Or he needs more years than just 1 to get there.

Either way, its beat for everyone (City included) to not leave him stuck behind 4-5 other players, playing garbage time minutes. He is not 18 anymore..

Time to fly

I'd have him in the first team squad probably as second choice in the right, so he'd get a lot of game time.

Brentford might not be the example to make, but I don't think there's a decent loan to happen for him in England. If he has to go it should be to a possession based team, maybe Germany would be interesting and have some opportunities.

You and I would. But are you willing to bet Pep will? I'm not.

From what i can see. Its looking like, Phil/Cherki, then Savio, then probably Capitan, then Bobb.

I just don't like his chances with that arrangement. Perhaps a rash of injuries will force Pep's hand. :(

Those 3 left 6 years, 3 years & 2 years ago so I can't see the relevance to someone we bought just 5 months back?

Bobb was getting his chance, fate intervened. If he makes a full recovery (his constant niggles are a worry) then there's no reason he won't get plenty of game time, O'Reilly should be fine too. Echeverri, whilst exciting to watch still needs to strengthen I think, so a probable loan.
How? We have far too many players blocking their pathways. Bobb has Savinho, Cherki, Bernardo and Foden who will likely be ahead of him in the pecking order on the right, and if the preference is to use Marmoush, with Haaland, it naturally pushes Foden or Cherki into the spot that Bobb would theoretically play in. As for Nico, he only really got mins last season at LB and now we have Ait-Nouri. We haven't moved on any of the uncs, and we now have Rodri back, plus Nico G and Rjeinders. Playing 6-7 meaningless games a season isn't enough.

There's plenty of game time, but we need to use it better. Afcon is this season which we will lose Marmoush and RAN for which gives some games for others. We need to use subs better, to help develop players and give others a rest. We have five which means we can sub half the outfield each game, and Pep kept asking for five subs but then hardly uses them. The league cup is too much for us to compete for with all the others, and Pep said it was unimportant last season but played a near full team and players got injured in it. That could be given to younger players, as well as games vs the teams from pot 4 in the champs league.

We did rotate heavily in the FA cup which I think helped, and hopefully we will do again. Haaland being our only striker means his place when not playing or when subbed off can go to others. I think with Rodri and Kova coming back from injuries Pep will rotate heavily with them as well. Ideally Gundo will be moved on as well.
