That's two fantastic games for Nathan in a week.

Last night I actually felt comfortable when the ball came to him at feet or in the air. He is a great defender and he's comfortable on the ball. Hope he can kick on even further from here.

There would have been plenty of people unconvinced by him and his whole season so far when he came on and less than half an hour later he'd cemented himself as a battle proven member of this City squad, more than capable of stepping up whenever needed, in the biggest games.

possibly the best out and out defender we have, may not have the range to play wing back/extra midfield like walker or cancelo, or the passing range of Johnny Boulders, or the ability to organise that Ruben brings, but put him in a situation where a tackle is needed, or needs to read the game to block a pass, then Ake is my first choice every time. Also makes very few errors

Always liked him and was pleased we got him, he always seemed be exactly where he was needed at exactly the right time,......took his time to get moulded into Peps shape but as usual with Pep, give them a full season and he will do it. He's come on strong this season and last night climbed another rung and is enjoying his football.

Player very well yesterday.

He took the game by the scruff and stepped up to the plate, which was just as well given Laportes uncommanding and clumsy display.
Getting better with every game and growing into this team . Could be a real asset moving forward .

Are we seeing pep moulding Ake into city’s version of Eric Abidal? The defensive full-back that becomes a cb when cancelo goes forward.

The lad looks absolutely ripped - physically resembles an NBA player. Hardly losing any headers and always fastest to react.
