Imagine Doku and Savinho getting the freedom to come through the middle. That’s something that sets PSG apart from us too. The 3 in front have freedom to occupy any space from time to time while our wingers just stand outside

Haaland gets more assists then he's given credit for. In his first season, he was one behind his countryman at arsenal, the one people were creaming over saying he's a great playmaker.

"Footballer" outside of the literal definition is pretty ambiguous anyway when talking about different abilities. People only wanna apply it to people who look easy on the eye. All players have their own attributes. Haaland's attributes as a goalscorer are probably the best in the world. Marmoush isn't the best at anything.

He's only a better footballer if you get selective on the attributes you wish to compare. You can say his passing and skill offer a team "more"...more what? Not goals, the most important part of football. So, what exactly?

As I say, this "footballer" nonsense is pie in the sky stuff when you start being selective about which attributes you include and omit to rate who is a good "footballer". Haaland is probably the best goalscorer in the world, therefore nobody is better at that. Unless part of your skill set is among the very very best in the world, like Haaland's is, then you're not a better footballer than Haaland, even if you can dribble around a cone more gracefully.

By your definition, goalscoring isn't that important in what defines a good footballer.
I take your point and maybe I'm being overly aesthetic about it.
Takes better corners than most in our team and for me the goal last night was not a total surprise, as we've seen he has great shooting ability.
I think at the end of next season we might have some idea of where Omar fits in the pantheon.
Suffice to say he was scoring and assisting more than Wirtz this season in Germany .

Goals per minute
Wirtz .51 Omar .93
Assists
Wirtz .41 Omar.56

He really excites me this lad. He can be a bit erratic with his touch sometimes but he's a fking livewire always looking to make something happen and do something positive with the ball. He's also got the confidence to shoot as soon as he gets anywhere near the box or even when there's space like last night. Incredible strike.

Redknapp going deep on comparisons with Suarez and how Marmoush will score a ton next season. Fair, wouldnt mind that.

He has really good shooting abilibity, but yeah, his touch lets him down quite a bit , like he is nervous or something.

Either way, i want to see them both in the team with fresh legs alongside them. They'll both be lethal in their own way.

Wonderful to have such a goal threat from outside the box . Proper throw back player .
We've got loads they've just had it trained out of them. Kdb can smash them in from anywhere, foden scored more goals from outside the box last season than any player in thr league, bernardo used to love a little 25 yard curler, rodri we know has a hammer on him, we saw yesterday nico can hit them and kovacic is the highest scoring 6 in the league this year with his best ever goal tally. Not short on players with that in their locker it's just not encouraged. And typically when somebody does do it, it's usually a bloody centre back smashing it into the stands.

Gvardiol too.

Reminds me of a description I once read of Ferenc Puskás: “Overweight, one-footed and slow. And one of the greatest players of all time.”

We have the most goals from outside the box in the league this season according to the commentary I had on the game last night (and probably last season, going on that Foden stat)

Not sure it’s been trained out of them

Does not surprise me given how much more of the ball we have in potential shooting areas than others. Still believe we are very reluctant to take the shot on and elect to pass when other sides would be shooting 100% of the time.
